The Foundation of EMSCO Scientific Inc.
EMSCO Scientific Inc. is established in Philadelphia, PA, marking the beginning of a journey as a trusted distributor of industrial and specialty chemicals.
1985
EMSCO Scientific wins contract with Merck Inc., becoming one of Merck’s first minority vendors.
EMSCO Scientific Inc. established a sourcing relationship with Merck, marking the beginning of a long relationship as a trusted distributor of specialty chemicals and excipients for this leading pharmaceutical
manufacturer.
1990
Expansion to Philadelphia
EMSCO expands operations with a new warehouse in Philadelphia, enhancing its distribution capabilities and customer service reach.
2000
Introduction of Advanced Chemical Solutions
Launched a new line of advanced chemical solutions tailored for the pharmaceutical and biological research sectors.
2015
EMSCO is acquired by SUPRA Office Solutions
After thirty-five years, Evelind Minor and Roderick Clifford, Sr., sold EMSCO Scientific to SUPRA Office Solutions, a nationally recognized, minority owned office supply & equipment distributor.
2018
EMSCO partners with Fisher Scientific at the University of Pennsylvania
Through the PAGE Initiative of the City of Philadelphia and the Economy League of Philadelphia, EMSCO partnered with Fisher Scientific, the world’s largest distributor of scientific products to provide laboratory supplies & equipment to the University of Pennsylvania.
2023
EMSCO builds new facility in West Philadelphia
EMSCO establishes a new 70,000 square foot headquarters and warehouse facility on 9 acres of land in the West Parkside area of Philadelphia.
2025
EMSCO is recognized by Merck
EMSCO Scientific is celebrated by Merck as a leading minority vendor with forty years of service to the leading pharmaceutical manufacturer.
